The Indie Night - The Return

After the huge success of the first Indie Night in March we’d like to invite you to our second headline event at The Hairy Dog where we are continuing to support the best new indie music from across the UK!

We’ve got 5 exciting bands playing this headline event (more on them below!) at one of Derby’s best music venues… so if you live going to a gig and discovering the next big thing or great new bands to follow and support then this night is for you! Check out our socials to see how good the last one was, you won’t be disappointed and for just £10 in adv you won’t find a better bargain for the stellar line up we’ve got on for our second night.

Students of Derby (and across the UK) we have discounted tickets available (£8 in adv) please bring your NUS Card to show on the night.

This time we have got a mixture of bands from across the East Midlands and a superb artist down from Sheffield which will no doubt make for a brilliant night! Here at The Indie Night we are all about promoting up and coming new music and making money for good causes. Unlike other promoters we don't make any money from these nights, we are doing it for our love of new music...so after the bands are all paid, any profits left go to Charity, which is currently 'Embrace CVOC' who support child victims of crime with the wonderful work they do and we are proud to be working alongside of them to make a difference.

Since starting these nights up we've been overwhelmed by the huge positive response we've had from gig goers, new music, indie lovers and fanatics alike. We've also been inundated with bands all keen to play our nights and are trying desperately to squeeze them all in at our live events! Trust us when we say these nights are going to grow and get bigger and better at the home of The Indie Night - The Hairy Dog!

We're also pleased to say we are now not just associated with 'Love Derby.' but also the newly formed 'ND Festival' which is Derby's first (and only!) Indie Festival and we are proud to not just be associated with them but to be able to support them and the wonderful event they are putting on in September this year! Some of the festival organisers will be at our live events to tell you more; another reason to get down and immerse yourself in this ever growing and emerging Indie Scene in Derby!

Sam Scherdel - “Dubbed the “South Yorkshire Springsteen” Hook laden, Epic & Energetic songs, all Delivered with his trademark growl. Soulful songwriter Sam Scherdel has been penning music since his early teens. With his gravelly voice contributing to his unique blueprint; his music is never too far strayed from the Rock and Alternative resonances that were the background of his youth.”

The Publics - “A powerhouse indie rock band from the little town of Mansfield, The Publics combine catchy riffs with powerful choruses to create a stadium worthy atmosphere.”

Shadows of a Silhouette - “They are an indie / alternative quartet from Derbyshire. Their enthusiastic sound incorporates relentless energy, pulsating guitars, catchy riffs and prominent lyrics. It is rich and industrious, heavily influenced by their working class background and groups such as the Arctic Monkeys.”

Billobuckers - “Billobuckers, a 4 piece indie band from leicester. The band are currently fresh on the scene and not to be mistaken with their impressive guitar riffs and gripping sounds. Lead singer Billy's raw fresh sound, bassplayer Callums back up vocals, Lead guitarist Alastairs captivating guitar riffs, Drummer George solidly holding the foundations together.”
