About

AFTER BLOOM

After Bloom is designed to be a reflective, transformative space where the night's energy is allowed to naturally evolve and settle into something deeper. It's the perfect mix of jazz improvisation, electronica, and dance music - an invitation to explore sound, movement, and connection.

Live acts and DJs have been hand selected by Greenhouse.Jam to blend the clubbier sounds of Jazz, with the Jazzier sounds of dance music in a celebration of the long standing symbiotic relationship these genres have.

Live Acts

Efti's Project

Efti's Project is an ambient jazz experiment led by London-based saxophonist Faye Thompson, who performs and shares in her meditative musical practice.

Faye's approach to the saxophone is centred around improvisation, using effects pedals and extended techniques to shape and manipulate sound in real-time. They are drawn to textures that emulate electronic synthesizers and ambient music, as well as the sustained resonance of folk drone instruments. Faye enjoys taking inspiration from the sounds of her surroundings, be those nearby conversations, the clicks from her instrument's keys, and even pedal glitches or unintended sonic artifacts.

margomool

Inspired by improvisation, the trans experience and nature, margomool paints ethereal sound worlds that transport audiences into fantastical realms.

FLORAL PATTERN

FLORAL PATTERN is an alt-jazz collective based between Derby and Nottingham, led by saxophonist and composer Myles Noble. Blending the raw energy of UK soundsystem culture with the innovation of the contemporary jazz scene, the band crafts euphoric, improvisation-heavy performances that are both psychedelic and rhythmically intense. Expect hard-hitting horn lines, driving Afrobeat-inspired drums, and bold experimentation in live electronic processing.

Nonna Fab (Live Set)

Nonna Fab is a multi-instrumentalist, DJ, promoter and producer founding Apricot Ballroom, Footprints Jazz Club, Movement and Soul Records, Grub Records, Fuji Speedway, Latent Desires and Love in Space Publishing.

Nonna Fab has played a serious role in the development of Sheffield's live and dance music scene with his influence in both audiophile party and contemporary jazz scenes.

Fab's back catalogue of music spans jazz, broken beat, deeper house and balaeric disco with plays on Radio 6, NTS, Rinse FM, Do You Radio and more across the world with records release on I Travel To You Records, Feelings Worldwide and the Apricot Ballroom imprint.

MIMS

Known for her garage sets, Mim weaves through house, dubstep, dark garage, and everything in between, always keeping things shifting.  She’s been moving through the underground for the past couple of years, with sets that feel instinctive and built for the floor.

As a regular in the Nottingham/Derby scene, she has made waves in different UK cities as well as on internationally in South Korea and Melbourne, Australia. Having played alongside notable artists like Arthi Nachiappan, Sammy Virji, Soul Mass Transit System, Silva Bumpa, Notion, Dr Dubplate and more Mim continues to impress and energize audiences wherever she spins.

She’s a natural on radio shows, having featured on Doppler, Brixton, and Svara as well as previously hosting her own on Swing Dash Radio where she tested new sounds with guests. This isn’t one to miss as she’ll be merging and testing the boundaries between dance, baseline and jazz.

The Church in Derby has been a home to dance music and dancers for over a year now. It is Derby's newest and most hi tech event space, bringing the creme de la creme of the worlds most cutting edge artists to Derby with an incredible sound and lighting system. AFTERBLOOM will be the first time something this experimental and genre-defying will have taken place at the Church.
