Event FAQs
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO ATTEND THIS EVENT?
This is a family event, while anyone under 16yrs of age (child) must be accompanied by an adult. Proof of age may be required for inspection on entry of either adult or child. VIP Tickets not available to under 5s. No concessions on VIP tickets.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY 'TODDLER'?
Children 5yrs and under are free. Unless accompanied by a paying adult, they will be refused entry.
I HAVE A QUERY REGARDING PURCHASING TICKETS/MY ALREADY PURCHASED TICKETS. WHO SHOULD I SPEAK TO?
For any questions regarding your tickets, you’ll need to email info@solsticesummerfest.co.uk and the team will be able to help.
You must bring your tickets on the day to gain access to the event.
WHAT TIME DO CAR PARKS/DOORS OPEN?
Saturday: car parks and doors open from 4pm. There will be no access to the event area until 4pm, so please do not arrive prior to this time as you may be turned away.
Sunday: car parks and doors open from 2pm. There will be no access to the event area until 2pm, so please do not arrive prior to this time as you may be turned away.
WHAT TIME DOES THE EVENT START AND FINISH?
Saturday: The festival will start at 4pm and finish at 11pm.
Sunday: The festival will start at 2pm and finish at 9pm.
IS THIS EVENT OUTDOORS?
This is an outdoor, open air event. Please check the forecast beforehand to dress appropriately for the weather.
IF IT RAINS WILL THE EVENT STILL GO AHEAD?
We can rely on the British weather to be unpredictable, so please come prepared with sunscreen and hats or waterproof coats and shoes if required. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather.
CAN I BRING AN UMBRELLA?
Small umbrellas are permitted, but we ask that you please be considerate of audience members behind you.
CAN I BRING SEATING?
You are permitted to bring your own individual folding chair (e.g. camping or deck chair). Please be considerate of those more energetic and place your chairs around the edges of the main area or out of the dancing areas. Please note that you will not be able to place chairs directly in front of the stage area. Loungers or inflatable seating, gazebos, windbreakers, tables and other structures are not permitted.
CAN I BRING A CAMERA?
The use of small hand-held cameras for personal use is permitted. If you’re filming on your phones, please tag @solsticesummerfest on any social media posts. Drones are not permitted.
CAN I BRING FOOD AND DRINK
No outside food or drink may be brought into the festival.
We will have a range of high-quality food vendors onsite catering for common dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Medical Exceptions:
If you have a medically diagnosed condition requiring specific food, please contact us in advance at [insert email]. Supporting medical documentation may be requested. Approved guests may bring a reasonable quantity of food for personal consumption only.
Baby food and essential medication are permitted.
All bags are subject to search. Final discretion rests with festival management.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
The address is Donald Hawley Way, Duffield, Belper DE56 4JD
As you approach the site, follow the signs to parking areas. If you can, please use public transport that may help avoid traffic congestion. Free car parking is available on site and please follow the directions of parking stewards on arrival. There will be no parking in Harewood village and no-waiting cones will be deployed and enforced.
Please book any taxis in advance and ask them to be on site prior to the festival finishing to avoid any delays on departure. We suggest exchanging contact details with your driver to ensure you can locate each other at the end of the evening. There will be no-waiting cones deployed in Harewood village which will be enforced.
I HAVE A BLUE BADGE, WHERE CAN I PARK?
There will be a designated area for blue badge holders within the event car park as close to the event arena as possible. Please note parking is on grass.
WILL I BE ABLE TO GO BACK TO MY CAR DURING THE FESTIVAL?
There is no re-admission after entry, so please plan ahead and bring everything with you that you’ll require for the duration of the event.
CAN I LEAVE MY VEHICLE AT THE VENUE OVERNIGHT?
There is no facility to leave your vehicle on site after the event, all vehicles must be removed. If attending both days please not you will not be able to leave your vehicle or any belongings on site on the Saturday night.
WHERE IS THE NEAREST TRAIN STATION?
Duffield has its own train station approximately an 11 minute walk from the festival site.
CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS ON THE DAY?
If there are any tickets remaining, you will be able to buy them on the day using a bank or credit card only. Once they’re gone, they’re gone so buy in advance to avoid disappointment.
CAN I HAVE A REFUND OR EXCHANGE ON MY TICKETS?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded or returned unless the event is cancelled.
CAN I BRING A BANNER?
No banners, flags or laser pens are permitted.
ARE DOGS PERMITTED?
Unfortunately, no animals are permitted into the event arena except for registered assistance dogs.
WILL THERE BE A SMOKING AREA?
There will be a designated area.
