About

Cheltenham’s premier retail and leisure destination, The Brewery Quarter has announced the line up of its annual Summer Jam event, taking place Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 August. Cheltenham is in for a treat, as this year’s Summer Jam stars will bring an exciting mix of music genres to suit everyone – from rock & roll to disco funk and reggae. Headlining this year’s bill for Saturday is Just Shut Up and Dance, a loud and raucous set of soul, funk, disco and pop covers providing an eclectic mix of entertainment. Also headlining on Saturday is Kingsley Salmon, with a blend of dark roots and soulful reggae inspired by the Jamaican sounds of the late 70’s and early 80’s. The up and coming band is fast making a name for itself, so definitely worth a watch at this year’s festival. The Strays bring a different pace of music to Summer Jam with fast, loud and energetic rock n roll. Their ethos is to produce vibrant, exciting music that makes people want to move – with a nod to vintage style with a modern gritty vibe. Also performing on Saturday are The Jonny Oates Band and Durandau Ballet. Not forgetting Tadstock Youth Music Festival’s own South-West duo BAAST and Reuben Lovett and the Confusion. Sunday’s line up sees an electrifying mix of bands, DJs and artists to celebrate the second day of the festival. Tux Fizz brings party classics, without the use of backing tracks for the authentic live music experience. A show to remember and a regular on the Summer Jam scene, Tux Fizz is not one to be missed. Sunday’s edition of Summer Jam will also host 5-piece band Soular, who have entertained hundreds of guests and performed at renowned festivals such as Cheltenham Jazz. Playing a mix of classic soul, funk and disco covers from the 70’s to present day they’re guaranteed to get visitors on their feet dancing. Reggae band Subduction will bring the crowd together, delivering their own unique sound, quality original songs and great onstage presence. This is reggae but not as you know it! Also showcasing their talent on Sunday will be a number of DJs from upcoming Lakefest Festival, giving listeners a flavour or what to expect at Eastnor Castle Deer Park the following week! Marketing Manager for The Brewery Quarter, Demelsa Coleman says: “Once again, we’re really looking forward to welcoming the diverse and exciting mix of bands and performers to The Brewery Quarter’s Summer Jam. It’s a fantastic day out for the whole family and not one to be missed. “The annual festivity gives us a chance to celebrate what Cheltenham has to offer, bringing together The Brewery Quarter and our local community. Each year Summer Jam has grown and this year’s is set to be the biggest and best yet!” Packed with the best food, music and drink, Summer Jam offers the very best of local talent with musicians and DJs from across Gloucestershire. Returning for a third year, the event brings revellers a friendly place to hang out, enjoy the sunshine, take in some great music and sample some delicious treats. This year’s event will also showcase a fantastic range of food, art and craft stalls, leaving Cheltenham spoilt for choice. Enjoy a tipple whilst nodding along to one of the local bands, or indulge in one of the many alternative food options. Not forgetting the diverse range of restaurants available at The Brewery Quarter. Summer Jam takes place at The Brewery Quarter on Saturday 4 August (1pm-9.30pm) and Sunday 5 August from (1pm-7pm).
