What's involved?

A passive, meditative experience designed to help you reach a state of deep relaxation without having to "do" anything.

You will be invited to lie down on a yoga mat and you will have a blanket, a pillow, and an eye mask to help you feel completely secure. (All of these will be provided)

Once everyone is comfortable, we will begins to play a variety of therapeutic instruments. These are sustained tones and vibrations that fill the room and, quite literally, wash over your body.

You will hear and feel a range of unique instruments, including:

  • Crystal Singing Bowls: Made of quartz, these produce pure, ethereal tones that seem to ring forever.

  • Gongs: These create deep, powerful vibrations that you can often feel physically in your chest or skin.

  • Chimes and Rainsticks: Used for lighter, "cleansing" sounds that mimic nature.

  • Tibetan Brass Bowls: These have a grounding, metallic resonance.

  • Shaman Drums: These produce a deep, rhythmic heartbeat-like sound that helps with entering a trance-like state of relaxation.

How doe it feel?

Because our bodies are roughly 70% water, they are excellent conductors for sound. Participants often feel:

  • A Body Hum: Feeling the vibrations physically, as if your cells are being gently shaken.

  • Time Distortion: An hour can feel like twenty minutes. You may enter a mind state between being awake and asleep.

  • Emotional Release: It's very common to feel a sudden sense of peace, or even feel lighter as tension leaves the body.

  • Deep Rest: Many people find it easier than traditional meditation because the sound gives the mind a "hook" to focus on, stopping the brain from racing.

What to bring?

  • Wear Layers: Your body temperature often drops when you relax deeply, bring a jumper and warm socks.

  • Come as you are: You don't need to be "good at meditating" or even "calm" to start. The sound does the work for you.

  • Hydrate: Just like a massage, drinking plenty of water afterward helps you ground yourself.

  • No pressure: If you fall asleep and snore, don't worry-it happens in almost every session and is a sign of complete relaxation!
