Create A Mosaic Brick That Lasts Forever

Whether you're curious about mosaic or simply looking to try something different, this workshop is a fantastic introduction to the art of mosaic, with your finished brick becoming part of a permanent public artwork in Hythe, Kent.

Over two hours, you'll design and create your own mosaic brick using a fantastic selection of colourful mosaic tiles, glass and ceramics.

Every brick is completely individual, so what you create is entirely up to you. Whether you arrive with a finished design in mind or decide as you go, your brick can be as simple, detailed, colourful or imaginative as you like.

Throughout the workshop, our experienced mosaic artists will be on hand to demonstrate techniques, answer questions and offer guidance whenever you need it. No experience is needed, and all tools, materials and equipment are provided, making this the perfect opportunity to discover mosaic for the first time or build on your existing mosaic skills.

Every completed brick will be professionally installed as part of the Romney Flock & Tide Tales Project, joining hundreds of individually created bricks to form a permanent community artwork at the bandstand in Oakland Park, Hythe.

This workshop is suitable for all ages and is a wonderful activity to enjoy on your own, with friends or as a family. Children are very welcome, and those under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Your ticket includes your mosaic brick, all tools, materials and equipment, together with expert guidance throughout the workshop.

This special session takes place at Hythe Station on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. It's a wonderful setting for a creative workshop, with the heritage station providing a unique backdrop throughout the day. The station café will be open if you'd like to enjoy a coffee, cake or something to eat before or after your workshop, and you'll be able to soak up the atmosphere as the miniature steam trains arrive and depart throughout the day.
