We wanted to create a totally free open mic space in Folkestone, where any genre and any type of performance is welcome.

we likely will have space for walk-ins, therefore we've built a decent selection of equipment (Guitars, Basses, Drum Kit, Mics and CDJs) for performers to just turn up with the keys in their pocket and play out to a crowd of friendly faces.

Having Folkestone 51 as our base of operations allows us one of the most aesthetically pleasing venues in South East Kent, with plenty of seating and standing space and a licensed bar. However it's also fairly intimate due to it's layout, a true best of both worlds venue.
