SEA LIFE Brighton is the world's oldest operating aquarium, built in 1872 and based opposite Brighton Pier. The aquarium takes visitors through the original Victorian architecture and 150 years of history in one of Brighton's best-known buildings.
Inside, the aquarium features more than 5,000 creatures, including rays, sharks, turtles, terrapins, star fish, seahorses and an anaconda. It is described as a fun, interactive and educational experience for the whole family, with animals from Sussex waters and beyond.
The collection includes curious, rescued, rare and more unusual species, making this a varied visit for anyone interested in marine life and the history of the building itself.
