About

Friday, 19th January

Laugh away those January blues - FREAK OF NATURE is back!

Freakishly good FREE Friday night comedy at The Caxton Arms.

Six established comedians from the South Coast and beyond perform their best material!

This month FEATURING:

DAVID IAN

David is a comedian and all round hero that Attitude Magazine described as ‘outrageously funny’, Broadway Baby called him ‘gloriously filthy’ while The Skinny said his act was ‘pitch perfect’. His solo show Mediocre Gay sold out Camden Fringe in 2022 while his next show David Ian: (Just a) Perfect Gay was named one of the top 10 shows to see at Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 by both Attitude & Broadway Baby. The show is being filmed in January for his first TV special. He regularly MCs at The Queer Comedy Club, starred in 2 episodes of OUTtv’s Live at The Queer Comedy Club and has headlined events such as Milton Keynes Pride, Wembley Park Pride, Kew Gardens After Dark & Ludlow Pride. He also cohosts the podcast Mediocre Gay and has been a guest on Rich Wilson’s podcast Insane in the Men Brain and been featured in The Guardian, The Herald, BBC Radio & Times Radio.

SIMON HARRIYOTT

Simon is an intelligent, clean stand-up comedian and MC. Described as the highest energy low-energy comedian, Simon delivers hot takes on subjects ranging from software to litter.

  • So You Think You're Funny? 2021 semi-finalist.
  • Komedia New Comedian Award 2023 semi-finalist.

‘Simon has a warm, easy-going and likable stage presence, which combined with his relatable and accessible material, makes him a charming comic’ - Esther Manito

‘Logical and likable, Simon blends observational comedy with a unique take on the world. Very funny.’ - Jade Gebbie (writer on BBC topical shows).

BRAD JON KANE

Surreal character comedian, sometimes with the ocassional poem pulled out of my sleeve. Famously managed to make someone laugh themselves off their chair.

RACHEL QUINN

Rachel is rabbit and leopard print obsessed woman. Her parents are constantly gifting her strange towels she doesn't want. Thankfully she does know what she wants out of life.

PLUS

Stalwarts of the Brighton Comedy Circuit:

TRISTAN WOLFE and MARK STEELE
