About

The Rude Boyz are a 7 piece Ska and Reggae band who aim to please with their upbeat style.
They are first and foremost a group of friends who got together to ignite the Ska scene after been in previous bands.
They are based in the Northwest of England but do travel to quench  their desire to play.
Lee is the dynamic front man with a gift to work the crowd. Anthony is on  keys who's attention to detail is outstanding. Our brass section, Neil and Jules never fail to impress. Ste is on the bass and Mark is on the guitar laying down the bedrock of each number and  Brian is on the drum pulling everything together at the back.

It was in the summer of '79 that the U.K.'s youth finally learned to dance again.  After three years of pogoing to the sound of Punk 'The Kids' decided it was time to Skank and providing the musical backdrop was the Two Tone Ska revolution, a multi-racial, sound and image that filled the dancefloors and the live venues. Now it's coming back. We have a chance to go back in time to those Rocksteady Days with The Skafather AKA Phil Eccleston playing you the best in 2Tone/Ska/Reggae & Mod .It’s a chance to delve into yer wardrobe and dig out those Boot’s & Braces. Born in the Shanty Town of Stoke in the Republic of Stoke-on-Trent in 1965. He was primed as a teenager for that summer of 79 and studied the art of Skanking at Ska University. From the first sound of Rico’s Trombone one Thursday Night on Top of the Pops the conversion began. “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I’ve ended up where I need to be, it has taken me 58 years to get here, what have I learned, Life is a gift don’t waste it. Enjoy every minute of it because it’s later than you think.”
The Skafather is on a Mission from God spreading The Gospel of Ska.
