Leeds’ Green Gardens make their long-awaited return to Blackpool this March, bringing their deeply emotive and intricately crafted indie rock to Bootleg Social. Known for songs that balance tenderness with raw intensity, the band create music shaped by warm drums, lo-fi guitars, and melodies that feel both intimate and expansive. Their work sits in a hushed, glowing space influenced by Sparklehorse, The Microphones and Broken Social Scene — a sanctuary where reflection and emotional honesty take centre stage.
Their acclaimed debut This Is Not Your Fault established them as one of the UK’s most thoughtful and quietly daring new bands, earning praise for its connection, vulnerability, and uniquely personal sound. As Clash noted, the album marked “a triumphant artistic high”, while Gigwise celebrated its “unique and impressive” vision.
Now Green Gardens evolve once more with their new album Thistlesifting, out September 5th on Tiny Library Records. Written privately with limited resources before being realised collectively, these songs amplify their sonic world — transforming tenderness into something tactile, carnal, and immediate. Waves of shifting textures and dynamic swells serve as anchors for the band’s honest songwriting, pushing their palette into vivid new territory.
Live, Green Gardens are a rare experience: gentle yet powerful, introspective yet soaring. Their Bootleg Social performance promises a heartfelt, atmospheric night where moments of fragility bloom into cathartic release. Expect beauty, tension, warmth — and a band growing into something extraordinary.
