Step into a totally unique experience at Future Yard - where rare and obscure silent films come alive with live electronic soundtracks, performed in real-time by some of the UK's most innovative artists.
This isn't your typical film screening or live gig. It's a collision of vintage visuals and cutting-edge sound, transforming early experimental cinema into something bold, loud, and unforgettable.

20:30 The Cottage Children performing to a collection of early short abstract, avant-garde film art commencing with "Rhythmus 1921" by Hans Richter, recognized as one of the pioneering works of the genre. Following this, there is a curated selection of works by several other prominent artists from that era, arranged in chronological order. The collection concludes with another piece by Richter, effectively framing the program

And we're honoured to give talented musician and producer Mayassa her debut outing as a long time supporter of our events bringing experimental electronica, fusing ambient moods, dance rhythms, and cinematic influences. Her sound drifts between the meditative and the physical, evoking abstract scenes and sensory landscapes.
Expect an evening of Live experimental electronica and sound design to accompany silent films from early surrealist and avant-garde cinema with big screen projection and atmospheric lighting and immersive sound to give you an experience somewhere between a gig, an art installation and a film screening
