The Mush Room with guest DJ Bloom
Never Never | Chris Frieze
Music Genres
The Mush Room welcome Bloom for a special guest DJ set.
Terry Keeley aka Bloom’s unique and exhilarating instrumental grime takes a no-nonsense, ‘kitchen-sink’ approach to collage and sound design. Smashing glass, gunshots, sirens and twisted vocal snippets combine over thunderous kicks, razor-sharp synths and pelvis-melting subs, in a swaggering style reminiscent of early Wiley or Rustie, with nods to classic hip-hop and R&B.
A long-standing fixture in the Belfast electronic scene (having been a resident of much-loved club night Ecker), Bloom attracted wide acclaim following the release of his killer breakthrough single ‘Quartz’ in 2012, and it’s lauded follow-up ‘Maze Temple’ on Lost Codes. High-profile remixes for Bjork and David Holmes’ ‘Unloved’ project followed, in addition to two EPs on the London-based Crazylegs imprint, cementing Terry’s reputation as one of the most exciting and forward-thinking electronic artists to have emerged from these shores in recent years.
Support on the night from Mystic Art's Chris Frieze and Never Never DJs.
