Fixity

About

An experimental music project led by the critically-acclaimed drummer and composer Dan Walsh, Fixity’s music lives in a world where rock-and-roll, free jazz and noise co-exist. This is a bubbling brew of sounds expertly churned into groove by Walsh and his bandmates.

Formed in 2015 and featuring an ever-growing pool of collaborators, Walsh and collaborators present a return to ensemble work for the first time since 2019’s ‘No Man Can Tell’ LP, with a collection of new works. This project represents a new stage in the growth of Fixity’s music at a greater scale, reaching across fresh musical worlds with the addition of strings arranged by NY/Cork based arranger Aine Delaney. Half recorded in Studio Sickan, Malmo in 2022 and half in Cork’s Heavy Meitheal Studios HQ in 2023, their forthcoming album features an extended cast of long-time collaborators and is augmented by a string ensemble. ‘Assurance’ will be released on Vinyl and Digital in Spring 2026 on the Moot Tapes label with Artwork by Stephen Morton.

A first visit to Belfast, we ae delighted to welcome Fixity as the closing concert of Brilliant Corners 2026!

“…defined by its disregard for parameters. Few Irish artists push the invisible parameters of sonic exploration quite like Walsh”– The Thin Air

“Fixity’s world is one where grooves, rock & roll, noise, motorik, and free jazz all coexist”– The Quietus

“Simply exceptional…one of the great albums of this decade”– KFUEL.org
