About

As part of Belfast Learning Festival 2026, Volume Control Enhanced brings you two creative workshops which aim to explore the world of music photography, videography, journalism and digital content creation, led by two successful NI creatives, Ciara McMullan and Dylan Murphy. These workshops are designed to suit all levels of experience, with very limited spaces available.

Ciara McMullan has worked as a photographer and videographer in the music industry for over almost 20 years. She has spent the last 4 years as Tom Odell’s official tour photographer and videographer, touring over Europe and the USA, including support tours with Billie Eilish and The Lumineers. Through this, Ciara now also does social media consultancy for Tom Odell.Other artists Ciara has worked with over the years include: Biffy Clyro, James Arthur, Simple Minds, ASIWYFA, Ben Barnes, The Rock Orchestra, Beoga, Freya Ridings, Ash, and JC Stewart. When she’s not on the tour bus, Ciara is also very involved in shooting local events and bands across Ireland, such as Output and Stendhal Festival, Sound of Belfast Festival, Belfast Pride and Outburst Queer Arts Festival. She has also freelanced with BBC radio networks, such as 6music, Radio 2 and BBC Radio Ulster, and directs and produces multi-camera live shows. Her work has been recognised with a runner-up award for Tour Photographer of the Year by Karma Magazine.

Dylan Murphy is a journalist, podcaster and tastemaker from Lisburn. He was the Editor of District Magazine, Ireland's leading music and culture platform for 5 years interviewing acts like Fred Again.., The Streets, JPEGMAFIA and more. Elsewhere, he runs his own music platform and podcast called Mabfield, which features both Irish and International acts and often showcases important stories hidden in plain sight. Dylan has also made audio documentaries for the BBC on Irish hip hop and drill and hosted 'I Was There' a documentary podcast revisiting the lore behind iconic Irish concerts. He's been featured in Dazed & Confused Magazine and written for The Face and co-produced an Irish special on Radio 1Xtra with Jamz Supernova. In 2025, he joined The Tenth Man as Culture Manager, where he curates lineups for brands like Jameson and continues to create content and document culture online.
