About

We're delighted to announce the third instalment of Cultural Conversations - our series digging deep into the stories behind those who are responsible for contributing to scenes, running labels, promoting events, and staying creatively connected in an ever-changing industry.

Hosted once again by Timmy Stewart, Cultural Conversations 003 takes place on Saturday May 2nd 2026 in the unique and intimate setting of Harland + Wolff Staff Club in East Belfast, ahead of our sold out Night Institute party with David Holmes a stones throw away, at Shorts Club later that evening.

This time around, Timmy sits down with one of Belfast's most celebrated musical exports:

David Holmes - Belfast-born DJ, producer, composer and lifelong music obsessive. From his formative years shaping the city's club culture, to his acclaimed solo albums, Unloved project, and Hollywood soundtrack work for the likes of Steven Soderbergh, David has spent three decades moving fluidly between dancefloors, studios and film scores - all while remaining fiercely connected to the scene that raised him.

Expect an intimate, wide-ranging conversation on music, authenticity, resilience and a life in music before David returns to The Night Institute later that night.
