Now in its 16th and final year, Solfest has firmly cemented itself as an important part of West Cumbrian culture. The festival attracts thousands of people annually to it's North Lakes Country Park setting, now located in the fields around Tarns Dub, where attendees can truly immerse themselves amongst the plentiful and exceptional surroundings, hand made decor and musical offerings.

This year's line up also looks to be going back to its roots, with the first wave of announcements including some of the festivals most cherished acts from previous Solfests gone by. Reappearing on stages across the festival site this year, punters can expect to see the likes of high octane, Afro- Electric Dance band Baka Beyond, thought-provoking Reggae flavoured rap from The Undercover Hippy and The Levellers guitarist and frontman Mark Chadwick, who will provide crowds with an impressive back catalogue of beloved Folk-Rock tracks.

Other notable acts include youth Jazz band BlueJam Arts, Lost Colours, Stig of the Dub, Colt 45 and AKA Noel Gallagher. The festival's organisers have also announced the inclusion of many up and coming acts from the surrounding areas and a new space called The Hive, which will see a selection of well established DJ's playing everything from House and Trance to Drum & Bass, Disco and Techno.

Solfest takes place at The North Lakes Country Park, Tarnside, Aspatria 23rd to the 25th of August over the bank holiday weekend with Thursday camping available. More artists are yet to be announced.
