The Dutch National Ballet will open this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event with a new dance production. Swan Lake Remixed for ADE, a part of the 30 YEARS ADE Icon Series, sees dancers from the National Ballet team up with ISH Dance Collective to present a modern take on the mythic tale at Gashouder, fusing classical ballet with hip-hop dance, electronic music and digital art.

The one-off project is an ambitious collaboration between ADE, the Dutch National Ballet, and creative agency XSAGA, featuring guest dancers from different dance worlds to reshape Swan Lake’s prevalent themes of desire, temptation, and the tension between light and darkness, 150 years on from the famed ballet.
Taking place from Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25th October, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is an annual highlight in the Dutch capital, and will once feature five days of leading electronic artists and industry figures coming together. ADE announced earlier this year that legendary trance DJ Paul van Dyk will return for an open-to-close set at the Melkweg’s Rabozaal on Saturday 24th October.
