The Frowns

The Frowns are an unsigned indie-rock band based in Glasgow, quickly establishing themselves as one of the city’s most exciting new acts. Since bursting onto the scene with a sold-out headline at the iconic King Tut’s, the band has gone on to sell out shows across Glasgow, earning a loyal following and a growing reputation for their electric live performances.

Fronted by Lloyd Jackson (vocals/guitar), alongside Mattie Mackinnon (guitar), Louis French (bass), and Ronan Walker (drums), The Frowns channel the raw charm of the early 2000s New York alt-rock scene - think The Strokes or Interpol - with a distinct Glasgow twist. Lloyd’s lyricism draws deeply from his complex relationship with his hometown - equal parts love letter and critique. The songs are shaped by the emotional push and pull of growing up in Glasgow, layered over driving guitars and gritty, melodic hooks.

Ultimately, the band has something to say and aims to make good music for good people in the process.
