History of Liverpool Sound City

The name first appeared in Austin, in 2007 as a showcase event at SXSW of the best of the UK?s Northwest acts. The 'Sound City' festival arrived in Liverpool in 2008, during the Capital of Culture year. It has since gone from strength to strength, gaining massive support from both big names, and a characteristically enthusiastic crowd.

It's now a hugely respected 3 day international music, media and technology festival, as well as a live arts and music festival. The festival's philosophy is to bring the best in new music, film, and art from the far reaches of the globe to Merseyside, in an electic, much loved, heady mixture, guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.
