History of Leeds Festival

Leeds Festival was inaugurated in 1999, as a sister festival to the well established and ever popular Reading festival. With the original festival being unable to handle the demand from an overwhelming number of loyal fans, Leeds was set up, to share the same lineup and make sure everyone could enjoy the incredible acts that the southern version of the festival had signed.

Taking over from the site that V festival had been on the two years previous, Leeds Festival had an incredibly successful start, and in 2003 moved to its current home at Bramham Park, North East of Leeds. Since then it has continually become larger and more impressive, Leeds Festival is now firmly established as one of the most essential festivals in Britain.
