About

Feel free to edit this down, but here's all the information on the acts. It's a great lineup. Some sharp stand-up, some character stuff - I've seen all of these acts regularly smash clubs. Hemel Hempstead — we’re back! Our first night was an absolute blast, and now we’re returning with another cracking line-up of acts, with something for everyone.

Headlining the night is the brilliant President Obonjo — award-winning comedian, winner of the Malcolm Hardee Award 2019, and the larger-than-life, self-appointed, side-splitting dictator of the Lafta Republic. A truly unique comic creation, President Obonjo has been leading his own comedy revolution, storming competitions across the country. He has won Luton Comedian of the Year, was runner-up at the Great Yorkshire Fringe, and reached the final of the legendary NATYS at Hackney Empire. He also has his own comedy special on ITVX, titled Stolen. “It's a great comic construct, with lots of seized opportunities for playing with the clichés.” — Steve Bennett, Chortle “This show was a revelation... Not at all what I was expecting.” — John Fleming.

Opening the night is the incredible Chris Ali, an up-and-coming comedian from North London and one of our favourite acts. A rising star making his name on the circuit, Chris recently opened for Phil Nichol on his UK tour and is definitely one to keep an eye on. Support comes from Max Gill. Max is a rising star who blends sharp, distinctive writing with dry, self-sabotaging charm. He tackles topics you’re not sure you should laugh at — until you’re glad you did. In 2025, Max won the INGTE Award and was a finalist in the Beat the Frog World Series. His unique voice has seen him perform at top clubs, including Top Secret, Backyard Comedy Club, and Frog and Bucket, and gain viral attention with millions of views online. Also joining the line-up is Nicky Vere-Compton as Dark Claude — the circuit’s least masculine transmasculine musical comedy man. Delighting and bewildering audiences in equal measure, Dark Claude brings wonderfully weird songs, sharp stand-up, and a brilliantly offbeat energy to the night. Hosting the night is master of chaos Duncan Hart. Energetic, sharp, and effortlessly likeable, Duncan blends punchy writing with off-the-cuff crowd work and just the right amount of chaos. With a commanding stage presence and a natural gift for banter, he’s once again being tipped as “one to watch”. “A class act, a performing tour de force and a welcome addition to any line-up...” —

Peter Fox, Notts Comedy Review. After such a fantastic first show, we can’t wait to bring another brilliant night of live comedy to Hemel Hempstead. Book now and come and be part of it.
