Biography

Toby Spin is a seasoned DJ, producer, and promoter from the South West of the UK, known for his dynamic, multi-genre sets and deep-rooted involvement in the music industry. With over two decades of experience, he has built a reputation for blending styles seamlessly, from Drum & Bass to throwback anthems, always keeping dancefloors moving.

As the main tour DJ for Jo Whiley’s 90s Anthems (RG Live & Sony Music), Toby has performed at some of the UK’s most iconic venues, including Blackpool Tower, Manchester Ritz, Cambridge Corn Exchange, York Barbican, Bristol O2, and Southend Cliffs Pavilion. In 2024, he joined Roni Size & Dynamite MC on a mini-tour, further cementing his place in the UK’s bass music scene. That same year, he celebrated his first label release with Mint Bangers (Bay Area, California).

In addition to his performance career, Toby has taken on significant roles behind the scenes. He served as Music Programmer for Glastonbury Festival’s Theatre & Circus backstage bar, Sunny’s (formerly The Greenroom). In 2024, over £35k was raised for charity through events held at the venue, with Toby booking 70+ acts including Squeeze, Old Time Sailors, A.K.D, and Rodney Brannigan.

Beyond performing, Toby has played a pivotal role in music promotion and venue management. As a director of 23 Bath St (Frome, Somerset) from 2014 to 2024, he helped shape the venue into a thriving hub for live music. He also served as Musical Director for Sunrise Festival (Hereford, UK) from 2017 to 2019, curating diverse and high-energy lineups.

Toby’s passion for discovering and supporting talent extends to radio, where he has hosted his fortnightly “Lemons” show on FromeFM since 2020, featuring guests like Gardna, Dr Meaker, Judge Jules, Ultrabeat, Eat Static, and more.

As an event promoter since 1999, he has worked with an impressive lineup of artists, including Ed Rush, A Skillz, Dub Pistols, Rodney P, Deekline, Congo Natty, Ed Solo, Roni Size, Krafty Kuts, ErbNDub, The Sherlocks, Slipmatt, Etherwood, Danny Byrd, Mandidextrous, Fabio & Grooverider, JFB, Nicky Blackmarket, DJ Vadim, Stanton Warriors, Aries, Eva Lazarus, General Levy, Phibes, and Ray Keith.

Toby has also brought his genre-spanning sets to major UK festivals, with bookings at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Bestival, and Kendal Calling.
