ThreeSixty
Labeled as Mark Knight’s ‘Ones To Watch’ in 2011, few could have anticipated that a chance meeting in Manchester’s formidable array of record stores would establish Dave Muirhead and Kirk Shiels as one of the UK’s most reliable House assets to date. But as comfortable alongside the likes of 303 Lovers as they are Funkagenda’s renowned Progressive imprint Funkfarm, the varied dexterity boasted by this extensively nurtured studio ensemble screams outrageously positive noise for British Dance music.
RELEASES
2011 was an impressive year for the duo as far as releases are concerned. Donning their collaboration with Chris Special ‘Kontakt’ and their remix of Jordy Lishious’s ‘Radiator’ to the highly anticipated first volume of Planet Funk Farm, further offerings alongside label mate Dirty Harris ‘Louka’ and ‘Duende’ established them as firm British favourites for at Funkagenda’s seminal imprint.
But their accession to the respected platform has been a work in progress from day one. Bagging early remix opportunities that led to their first taste of Beatport infamy courtesy of huge remodels of ‘You Might Hear Nothing’ by Slovenian Techno heavyweight Umek and ‘Vibrations’ by Toolroom Records for Chris Special in 2009, But having extended their music to the realms of 303Lovers, Definitive Recordings, Defected, Umek’s 1605 Music Therapy & Toolroom Records, their four years and counting has seen them climb to superior heights as they carry the torch for Britain’s underground elite.
DJ SETS/MIXES
Always on hand to batter the middle ground of genre-defying underground anthems, ThreeSixty’s reign on the floor has been a strong asset to their arms. From Miami to Amsterdam and all the way back to such beloved hometown nightspots as Manchester’s Sankeys, the boys are yet to miss a beat with the adage of ‘simply the best’ that they bring to every outing.
Having already donned their club stylings to the Toolroom podcast for an exclusive guest mix, the duo look set to further their reign with promising tour activity across Central America and Europe for 2012.
MAQUINA MUSIC
Alongside Dirty Harris, ThreeSixty have helped establish Maquina Music as the underground DJs best friend. Catching essential support from the likes of DJ Chus, Funkagenda and Amo & Navas along the way, the past two years have established the imprint as a mutual ground for creative integrity and dynamic underground talent alike, with such seminal releases from the founding three-piece as ‘Latouche’ ‘Masquerade’ and impending Beatport stormer ‘Dokana’ leading the way for their dominant studio intellect and savvy eye for A&R.
