The Joneses are a band made up of four individuals driven by the passion and sheer delight for a band’s music have dared to attempt to capture the extraordinary diversity of melody and mood and do justice to one of the most influential bands of all time, The Smiths. The songs that tap into society’s and individual’s struggle with sexual and social turmoil, loneliness, vulnerability, alienation and violence, are coming back to the stage thirty years after the break-up in what promises to be an electric live show.

Based in London and Margate, this studio band are now ready to share their enthusiasm with other Smiths fans and have broken out of the rehearsal room. One of the band members lives in Margate, they have set up an Indie/Smiths night in Margate’s Olby’s Soul Café. This very special night will involve DJ Richie and the band The Joneses taking turns in playing the best of Indie and Smiths songs and promises to be another moment where the creatives in Margate make their mark.
