The Bacillus are an Alternative Rock band currently based in Manchester, UK.
The Bacillus formed in December 2008 when singer/songwriter/guitarist Aidan
Cross teamed up with ex-Frank Is Dead members and fellow
singer-songwriters Stephen Sarsen (bass) and Tim Lee (guitar) to give
his songs the backing of a full band. Stuart Quinn-Harvie was soon
recruited on drums and The Bacillus made a big impression on
Manchester's live circuit throughout 2009-2010.
The Bacillus spent the summer of 2010 recording their debut album, "I Can't Adapt To This Prison You Call Society", a collection of raw, quirky post-punk anthems with touches of Folk and Classic Rock and ascerbic, anti-establishment lyrics interspersed with a dark humour. In early 2011, the original line-up amicably split as separate music projects led the band members in different directions. The album was finally released in September 2011 and the original line-up temporarily reunited to promote it with a special launch gig at Manchester's Space Bar. The album can be purchased here:

Aidan has since teamed up with Graham Brown, the band's long-time promoter, on bass, and Jeremy Vanheusden on drums. The three of them are currently in the studio working on new material for the next phase of The Bacillus, and will be announcing new live dates in the near future.
