Biography

THE 844s

The 844s play an eclectic mix of blues influenced material. Their songs are for the most written by band members and reflect their individual influences ranging from Little Feat and JJ Cale to Wilko Johnson and Sonny Boy Williamson. Martin McGroarty (guitar) is a former member of the highly regarded Helen Watson band and Dave Rigg (harp, vocals) was a long-standing member of northern blues stalwarts The Ducks. Both have recorded sessions for the Paul Jones radio programme and have been regulars at Burnley and Colne Festivals with a variety of bands. Rhythm section Jim Duffy (drums) and Jerome Dineen (bass) keep the sound groovy and in line the band ethos of "Aim The Beat At The Feet!"
