Biography

Following the release of acclaimed taster single ‘Be Uprising’ earlier this year, punk poet and singer Lucie Barât swiftly returns with her official debut single Take Me Away. A guitar-driven composition with passionate vocals and direct lyricism, the track is a lament on the morning after a night of debauchery. The frenetic music video features Irish actress Fiona O’Shaughnessy of the British drama series Utopia (C4).

Supported by the likes of NME, Q Magazine and Radio 1, Lucie Barât has already garnered an impressive list of fans as she embarks on her solo musical career. This year has seen her not only support her brother Carl of The Libertines on their recent UK tour but also receive endorsements from the likes of Brix Smith (The Fall) for whom she also provided support on her Extricated tour.

‘…Searching, soulful vocals and direct lyricism.’

Gigslutz

‘Lyrically dexterous & musically playful, balancing huge potential with her current momentum’

Clash Magazine

‘… Blending the spoken word style of Kate Tempest with a dance influenced live band is a stroke of genius… For a debut, this is stunningly fresh.’

Listen with Monger

‘A delicious blend of dreamy guitar licks, synth and cool, spoken word lyrics’

GigRadar

‘Unapologetic and infectious’
