Bristol Symphony is a new and exciting young orchestra for the City of Bristol. Comprised of dynamic and talented players from across the region. The Orchestra is a mix of both professional and non-professional players. Bristol Symphony performs three main concerts a year and strives to take both players and audience on unexpected and inspiring musical journeys.
Bristol Symphony has already gained a reputa¬tion for being an orchestra that performs major new works, and collaborating with non-classical soloists. In addition to 19th and 20th Century symphonic repertoire, the orchestra performs works by living composers, including new commissions, such as the Concerto for Kora and Orchestra, with Bristol based, Senegalese musician, Mamadou Cissokho.
The ‘Jazz Meets Bristol Symphony’ series is now an annual feature on the Bristol map. Last year saw Andy Sheppard join the Orchestra and this year will see a collaboration with Acclaimed Bristol-based jazz quartet, Get The Blessing.
