Biography

DEVSTAR (Nervous Records, Simma Black, Toolroom) - An up-tempo artist with a dynamic and imaginative mixing style, Devstar is one of the UK’s most respected technical house DJs.

The Head DJ Coach at Toolroom Records’ illustrious Toolroom Academy and one of only a handful of artists to advocate DJing as its own art form, Devstar’s superbly creative and esteemed video mini mixes have received recognition from Pioneer DJ, Ibiza Club News, Data Transmission, Toolroom Records and more.

In terms of his production influences, Devstar sits in that sweet spot between classic, 90s inspired house music with a modern twist and was picked up in 2021 by New York’s Nervous Records with hit “My Man” earlier this year.

In 2020 Devstar launched Make You Move Records with Timmy P (Strictly Rhythm, Nervous Records, Madhouse) with a vision to connect artists making outstanding, un-sung classic inspired house music, and present them to a new audience. Since inception the label has received wide industry support, featuring artists such as Josh Butler, James Dexter, Jack Swift, Morgan Seatree, The Phantom Frequency (Jordan Peak) and many more on the label.

Devstar’s video mini mixes and consistently impressive live sets have rewarded him with performances at some of the best festivals and clubs throughout Europe, including Hideout Festival (Croatia); Amnesia, Sankeys and Space (Ibiza); The Warehouse Project, and other events across the UK and Europe. Industry recognition has even led to Devstar hosting his own advanced DJing workshops at Fabric nightclub, Ibiza (Breakthrough Artists) and SubBass Music Academy.

Devstar featured in DJ Mag as one of Hannah Wants' Top 5 Up and Coming DJs and routinely features on her sold out UK tours. Devstar first put himself on the map back in 2015 winning Hannah Wants' coveted UK DJ Competition in two consecutive years, beating 1000 other applicants in the process.
