Ocean Reid & Holly Taymar

Holly Taymar's laid-back set was professional, without any fireworks. As a locally-based music student, she has a talent for a melody, but says her songs are about 'things' rather than emotions. I think she needs to get to grips with her emotions, and this combined with her haunting vocals could make a difference. I'm sure she's got lots to say! An enjoyable set from a talented artiste.

With a great voice, and a range of high-class hair-products, his songwriting has developed greatly, and shows off his huge talent. In this 'unplugged'-type gig, Ocean's voice seemed stronger than ever, and when he let-rip, shows he is a force to be recond with. Well-crafted pop songs charting his own insecurities and angst, reveal Ocean to be an undiscovered talent of the highest order.Of course, some of us have already discovered him!
Ending his set with his new single, he proved that he has the songwriting skills to create commercial success.
An excellent evening, excellently hosted. How could it be improved? Possibly by having the acts introduced, rather than having them wandering on under their on steam. A great night out!
