We were told over the phone that there was family camping available but when we got there we were told that there was no family camping. The teenagers all took over the site and ruined all the people who actually had brain cells weekend. There was hardly no security on site and so it was like a war site.
The prices are too high for the way this festival is run. The promoter should not be allowed to open any more events ever again and should refund all the families who went with a broken promise of family camping

I was most disappointed. After a very long journey the staff at the entrance were very ill informed, not well equipped and drunk. After some time and negotiations we managed to get in about 9pm The field for camping was totally full up and myself and two other vans were directed to a drive way where we were supposed to camp. The following morning after a terrible night with young under age drunken louts banging on my van and generally misbehaving. Later having inspected the shower & toilet facilities which were disgusting and un-useable . Also when I attempted to get directions to where we could finally camp we were told that where we spent the previous night would have to do whereupon I promptly left the site. I would like to say the Skiddle are usually very good and I would appreciate their comments and maybe a complimentry ticket to another festival.

Great music, discovered some great new acts. Loved the chill out Sunday. Laughed till I cried at the comedy. BUT when there is no security stopping a group from intentionally keeping everyone awake on the campsites and the toilets are ten times worse than anything experienced at Glastonbury, then you won't find me back next year sorry. Why stick up signs asking ladies not to flush sanitary items down the toilet then not provide adequate bins. Disgusting.

The trouble with kids...

The venue was good, albeit a bit small but it is only in its second year. The campsite was awash with middle class teenagers whose mummy had obviously trusted to their first festival. The noise from these kids was unbelievable and continual. Security should have stepped in at some point and put them to bed. Apart from this festival was v. good but i would not return unless there was a seperate field for normal people who sleep!! Oh and could of done with cleaning the site more often, a top tip is to give the campers bin liners and they will tend to do it themselves

Camped in the tiny camping field and this was dominated by teenagers - such a small venue that no family or quiet camping was available - definitely NOT family friendly as teenagers kept up a shouted conversations about their banal lives all night, also lots of music etc and no consideration for anyone wanting to sleep in campsite! These kids were quite open about the fact that they were not intending to see any acts - just here to 'get pissed'. Actually they did not leave the campsite.
For such a small festival the bands etc were great, saw a fab local band and enjoyed the entertainment - but would not recommend or return as this is clearly a mecca for spoilt teen brats to get out of earshot from their parents.

over all a good weekend shame that chase n status didnt turn up!!!! but think every one knew this was going to happen, great that you could take your own beer in much cheaper option!!!! the bands were ok sunshine underground were pure class!! i thought anyway.
needs more advertisment and bigger and better crowds next year if poss think the organisers need to try and get some bigger acts x

Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival

We really enjoyed the festival overall once we overcame our disappointment at Chase n Status' cancellation.
More fair rides would be good, waltzers would have been a welcome addition to the fair and maybe a sidestall or 2 ie; firing range, win a goldfish etc.
A programme or the set list being available on the internet is a must next year to enable people to plan their itinery.
The poppers stall/oxygen bar was a good call!
The Charlatans and The Sunshine Underground were excellent as was the overall standard of music. An encore from The Charlatans would have been a bonus!Loved Lisa Pin-Up, that girl still has it!
Toilets were kept clean and plenty of them, drinks were a little pricey but nowhere near what you would pay at bigger festivals.
The 2nd dance arena (village hall type place) wasn't clearly marked and the lack of lighting didn't give it much of an atmosphere (you could have closed the curtains!)

On the whole we had a great day, the weather held out, the people were friendly.....Roll on next year.......

Every seems to have noticed the severe lack in bodies but all down to the organisers I think!!
Put it this way I bought ETickets for the event.. On arrival I informed the security that I needed to pick up my ETickets to which they had no idea they existed!!! We waited around for 10mins while organisers and security argued abit then I was handed 3 weekend & camping wristbands with no identification required!!! I think this set the tone for the event!!! Must say Charltons where very good!! And the boxing / I've got me top off so i must be really hard match that went on outside the dance tent provided great comical value!!!
All in all we had a laugh.. Saturday night with I think 3 of the funniest girls I've met in my life!! "Tash you and your mates where hilarious"
