Review of Lambing at Whirlow Hall Farm
We had a great day apart from it raining the kids really enjoyed it they loved the lambs it's a great day out for kids the only thing is when the is bad there s not where to sit and eat your picnic and warm up a bit theres a cafe but it takes reservations so you carnt even get in there because it's small convert a barn just somewhere to be dry while having lunch but we will only go back in the warmer months dew to this

Unfortunately with a big group of us buying drinks and food it was very expensive £1 for a fairy bun for example. The outside food stalls were worth it because of the quality .Face painting and slime was too expensive for a group of 4 children ,they did do the card and mask making which was free and good entertainment .The animals were lovely and the venue but I think we will go when there is not an event .
Review of Lambing at Whirlow Hall Farm
The weather can't be helped but the forecast was for heavy rain so more should have been done to provide shelter while checking in, and perhaps some cover from one station to the next. I know it is a charity and very worthwhile but I think the entry fee should cover all activities on offer, and to be charged £3.50 for face painting was too much. £2 Would have meant more takers and more money for the farm in the long run. I think the entry fee could be higher and everything else free.

Not great that we had to park so far away with 2 young children. Food was a disaster as we arrived at lunch time with hungry toddler: tried to order pizza but they had run out of cheese so taking no orders. The other stall had sold out of everything but burgers and even they ran out of onions and cheese. So food could have been better organised. We also paid to see Santa for a half hour slot but queued for 1.5hours! Think Santa needs to spend less time with each child or go in small groups as there was a lot of frustrated and freezing people waiting! I love whirlow farm and we take the kids frequently but I didn’t really rate this event. Shame really but hope it improves for next year.

Some good stalls but queue for Santa's grotto was ridiculous despite pre booking a time slot. That aspect could be better planned for next year. Nice selection of food and choir was excellent but the venue could look more Christmassy e.g lights and decorations
