Basingstoke’s stylish new bar, The Light Lounge, invites you to enjoy a wide selection of quality beers, wines and spirits in a truly modern and metropolitan environment, here in the heart of Basingstoke’s historic ‘Top of Town’ district.
On the site of The Falcon, an Inn where Oliver Cromwell stayed during the siege of Basing house, the current building is mid 19th Century. Inside however, the bar is spacious, light and airy with a hint of Charles Rennie Mackintosh in the furnishings.
The relaxing atmosphere of our new bar is created by the careful use of lighting; designed by a top London lighting designer, the state of the art technology allows the entire ambience of the bar to change colour from cool blues, through relaxing greens to racy reds.
During the day, along with wines and beers, The Light Lounge offers a selection of freshly made sandwiches, baguettes, teas and coffees, all served by a friendly and efficient bar staff. We stock a wide range of bottled beers from around the world, including Budvar, Peroni, Corona and Brahma… the taste of Brazil right here in Basingstoke!
On draught, along with Stella, Fosters, John Smiths, Strongbow & Guinness we stock two guest Real Ales, in top condition. Even the reps drink here!
For music lovers, the Light Lounge Bar has live bands or Discos most Fridays and/or Saturdays appearing on a purpose built stage. The acts we book for the bar are vetted for their quality of performance and musicianship. See our bar website for full listings.
One Sunday a month our bar hosts ‘The Sunday Social’ from 3pm, where local musicians are encouraged to try new things and demo new projects in a relaxed atmosphere. Just kick back and see the best talents in Basingstoke (and there are many) really let go. The eclectic music policy means you can hear folk, rock, jazz, blues, even flamenco all on the same bill!
