Muddy galore :) love it!!
Overall rating: 4

Amazing weekend, the rain and the mud definitely did not stop me raving away - even though I had gladiator sandals on and looked like a monster!

Loved it!! Adam Beyer was awesome...as was Seth Troxler.....slightly disappointed with Grandmaster Flash though :)

Had an amazing weekend, too bad it just went by too quick! Found the rainy Sunday pretty much just amusing, the muddy shoes were an accomplishment. All in all it was very well organised, queues weren't too much to handle. The only downside I can think of was the sound quality in the 'dubstep' tent. I wish the music would have been louder and considering the genre relies on heavy basslines, it was a shame that you could hardly hear the bass. When enjoying great artists such as Caspa, I don't want to only hear the bass, I want to feel it. So next time, more bass! Apart from that, a job well done!

Parklife - AMAZING but a little too quiet
Overall rating: 4.5

AMAZING WEEKEND. Obviously made better by being surrounded by around 60 of my friends, but the whole event was superb.

The music, acts, atmosphere, people were just bang on. The ONLY down side was that the tents were way too quiet. Either turn the bass up, or if you're going to keep it down, turn the volume as a whole up. Maybe have more speakers at the sides/back to give an all over sound and not just at the front. But that's the only bad comment I have.

Again, I know it's surrounded by a residential area etc, but if you can't hold the festival properly there, then find an alternative (maybe Heaton Park or Wythenshawe Park - I know it's ideal at Platt Fields because of Fallowfield/student population etc) just throwing ideas out.

or maybe even broaden the event and have other genre tents (folk/pop/rock/acoustic etc) and give immediate local residents free tickets to encourage them to be on board with the project.

Fabtastic Parklife
Overall rating: 5

Great festival again this year, the vibe and atmosphere was top notch!! DJ's were excellent, spent the majority of the night in Crosstown Rebels tent, watching the likes of Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Damian Lazarus. Seth even came over for a kiss on the cheek and a photo, so personally I was made up!! Also checked out Hercules and the Love Affair, Jamie XX, Fake Blood, Boys Noize and the Treehouse Silent Disco - all fantastic. Easier to get in this year also, no long queues like last year. Only small complaint was the bar areas, we queued for 45 minutes initially, and decided to stock up and get about 4 drinks, but getting out the crowd with the drinks was a nightmare, and felt a bit unsafe at times, but thats my only little niggle. Other than that, fantastic - will be back next year.

Parklife did Manchester proud
Overall rating: 4

Queuing for bars the only thing I can complain about, but that's a given in any festival. Had a top time, atmosphere was brilliant despite the good old British weather being awful on Sunday, but if anything the mud and the rain added to my fun as you can see from my photos! Excellent. Will definitely be going again next year if the line-up's as good as it was this year.

Parklife 2011- Saturday
Overall rating: 5

I had a day ticket for Saturday 12th June at Parklife 2011, and it was fantastic!!

Much better organised than last year, with no standstill queuing time, more toilets, bars and more extra festival areas like the Secret Garden.

Love that such a great festival can be held in our very own Platt Fields Park. Best performances for me were Fake Blood, Boys Noize and Subfocus, who were all seriously banging- can't wait for next year!

ParkLife 2011 - Madchester in a Park
Overall rating: 3.5

First of all, how brilliant isnīt it being in a park in the middle of your city partying away with like minded happy people! Brilliant!
So cool it is so central!

Saturday was awesome with the sun, the atmosphere, the tunes, the vibe, the lot!

Could of asked for a bit louder music on all stages, especially Main Stage. But of course, being in the city centre does come with requirements.

Sunday took a bit of the relaxing sunny times away, but was exchagned with mud-wrestling and all other fun festival actions!
GrandMaster Flash was rocking it, as was 2ManyDjs closing act!

Big thumbs up to most of the performers, even the dancers in "half-times" were well entertaining.

Also, the last minute changes of some set-ups could of been better announced!

And as all other festivals, how can you charge for a programm to an event you have bought tickets for? Never had and never will get my head around that scam!
Get more bar-staff in that work more effective, to lesser the queues = party and enjoy the acts more!

All in all, good venue, happy people!

Keep it true to Manchester!

Parklife = Totally worth the wait!
Overall rating: 4

Excellent festival and cheap considering the acts playing in comparison to attending one day of other festivals.

My only complaint which is evidently shared by others: the queing time. This took a very, very long time and was not helped by many people pushing in: perhaps a different entry system next year which utilises more than one entrance to the site?!

Once the que was over, the event was fantastic: the usual 'more bars more toilets' complaints did appply, but I was very, very glad that Platt Fields was being used for a large, enjoyable and mostly electronic music event!

I would say though for next year, if Fake Blood playing get him on the main stage!

I will definatly be attending if Parklife is on again next year

Perfect Parklife
Overall rating: 5

What a day, helped by the beautiful sunshine. atmosphere was great from the start and the queue was very reasonable, i wasnt stood still for long (the shared bottle of brandy helped witht he queue) for Ģ30 i dont think a better bargain could be found all summer. The only dilemma I had was whether to watch england on the big screen or booka shade. opted for half of each in the end. What a way to start the summer festival season!

The pinnacle of the best weekend of my life
Overall rating: 4.5

We arrived at about half 3, maybe a 30-40 Min queue but it was fast moving and sort of added to the hype of the whole occasion. The layout was very similar to last years mad ferret festival but why change something that isn't broken.

All of the tents were large enough to fit everyone in and still keep a pretty personal atmosphere. Contradiction to many thoughts there was plenty of room outside to chill for a while between acts. Whilst the football on you could watch from the main stage which kept me and many more happy, even if the outcome wasn't too great.

Many people are moaning about the food and rink, I personally didn't eat because I would have expected delays with the volume of people and just sent off buddies to buy me drinks!

Overall, I thought the event was fantastic and will definitely be coming again next year. great job guys!

music excellent, organisation...not so much!
Overall rating: 3

I'm afraid that paying Ģ30 to queue up for 90 minutes and then not being able to get drinks or food or use the toilet is not good enough. It took the edge off what could have been a fantastic atmosphere.

This really needs to be organised better next time from a customer service point of view - at best poor preparation and organisation, at worst treating customers with contempt.

It's a shame because the music was great. Particularly enjoyed Goldie with some of the old skool drum and bass sound and Friendly Fires outside at the end!

Parklife 2010

Parklife was an amazin day!!

great line-up and a fantastic event overall. Location was perfect. Well done to the organisers considering it was the first event on that scale. Great mix of acts and the first time I have seen a Pizza Express at a festival.

Only improvements would be more toilets, shops and food stalls. Wasn't the greatest amount!! Bar staff didn't have a clue but that is always the case at festivals.

Would be amazing if the festival was longer next year and there was camping. At Sonar, they carry on the festival in the evening at another part and provide coaches. The only reason the que was so long was because you are trying to get 20,000 people in the arena in one afternoon rather than over two days.

I want my money back.
Overall rating: 2.5

Was I at a different gig? After reading other people's reviews I must have been. For a start, it waas damn freezing. Admittedly, not much they could have done about that but it kind of started out bad and things just went downhill. There was no schedule and nothing to tell us when and where people were on. We were desperate to see Justin Robertson and Scatch Perverts but missed them because we didn't know when they were on or whether they were on the main stage or in one of the tents. They were the only reason my boyfriend wanted to go. I am also furious we weren't allowed to bring our own drinks in. Alcohol was confiscated at the gate (yet some people smuggled it in and sat drinking it in front of the stewards not that those particaular ones seemed to give a damn). Not allowing alcohol I can understand(to a certain extent anyway) but I had a bottle of water that was also not permitted. I hadn't even opened it yet, it was still sealed. So we had to go and wait in a hideous mass of people (a normal queue was of course, too much to ask for) and bulldog our way to the bar to pay for warm, horrifically overpriced drinks. When I was hungry later I then subjected myself to noodles and black bean sauce - I don't know where they got that truly vile recipe but it didn't taste like any black bean I've ever had. Naturally, the toilets were hideous and a toilet paper free zone and the queues for them seemed endless. Anyway, Ian Brown's people must have been running the thing because they saved everything until the end of the night. None of the other acts had any volume or decent sound so it was impossible to actually get into the music and have a good time. When Ian Brown finally appeared he was totally out of tune (maybe he was wasted) and although I tried valiantly to enjoy myself as best I could, it was hard when people kept smashing into me. Stop drinking if you can't stand upright anymore yeah? Some woman in front of me must have crashed into me about 40-50 times, no exaggeration. Of those times she noticed about three and decided to apoplogise by putting her damn hands all over me which I had to forcefully remove. I would also have appreciated it if some people would have kept their eyes on the stage instead of on my ass. There is so much more I could say about that night but I think I've wasted enough of my time. Will I go back next year? You know, maybe I'll skip it.

Hacienda tent superb!
Overall rating: 4.5

Overall a great day - The Hacienda tent was my complete fav, Graeme Park was a legend! Ian Brown was great, as were El Diablos in the small white tent. Was gutted I missed Justin Robertson due to the queue and searching to get in the place. Toilets and bars were a bit of a joke as well, but probably what you'd expect from a festival - they just needed more staff there and more toilets!. Rusholme for a curry after was also a bonus! I would defo go to next years event - just hope they open the venue a bit later!

AMAZING DAY OUT!!!!!!!!

GREAT ATMOSPHERE, ACTS, LOCATION & WEATHER!!!!!

ONLY BAD POINTS - LONG QUE TO GET IN, BARS - LONG QUES, NOT ENOUGH BARS/ALCOHOL WITH INEXPERIENCED STAFF, NOT ENOUGH FOOD OUTLETS/LONG QUES, NOT ENOUGH TOILETS.

I'LL DEFINITELY ATTEND IN 2011, I JUST HOPE THE ABOVE POINTS ARE TAKEN IN TO CONSIDERATION! IT WAS GREAT TO HAVE A LOCAL FESTIVAL IN MANCHESTER!

Had an amazing time!! Well worth it! could do with a few more bars and bar staff. I dont know if it just cos it was an England world cup game that mobile phone networks were busy or if it was because so many people in one area trying to use the same relay points but the organisers should try to communitcatie with telecommunications companies so that could ring mates. txting did kinda work but still took a while to get through. Nothing bad to say otherwise about it! Perfect weather for music and chilling, raving in the park :)
