timmypunx Offline Points:161 Posts: 7 : 5 | venetian snare Overall rating: Venetian Snares is a rare thing - both to be able to see live, and to actually listen to (live or on record) so this was an amazing booking. The venue was brilliant, the lighting rigs and equiipment set-up was great and the main room was excellent, my only complaint was the insane amount of time we were all left queing outside!! Drinks were priced ok, and the bar service was alright & not too slow All the DJ sets were really good, although one of them ruined the vibe a little bit by being abit too obscure - not quite sure who it was because some of the set times overlapped. Snares didn't disappoint & played some really great tunes - with someone who has so much music out there, it could very easily have been a set of tunes you only half knewbut he knew the crowd well & toyed around with them - playing gabba that verged on white noise for the last 20 mins, just because he could!! Overall rating: queued for hours, no exaggeration! wasn't the crowd i was expecting t see on this sort of night...but still was a pretty friendly mixed bunch of people. the acts before snares were a little softer than i expected. snares was amazing, not as involved as he was last time, but still amazing. venue was a good lay out and a good feel. drinks were a little steep. | ||||||||||||||

Major complaint re: venue was the ridiculous queue to get in while they checked everyone's name against a list. Tip for next time guys: e-Tickets! Lovely lounge downstairs...just wish the music had stayed nice and mellow downstairs...(Maze and Tribal tactics, were wicked) .Perhaps some nice abstract detroit grooves next time ? Sims and Paul Mac were wicked, really fat, heavy housey tribal Techno as you'd expect and such a shame the sounds went off 30mins before the end. By the way the big room system is one of the richest deepest sounds Ive heard in a long time All in all an excellent Techno night, hope this keeps going past the three monthly nights already advertised. | ||||||||||||||
