I guess that Loose Screw were more towards "cabaret" than Busby but both had elements of it.
Both had very good backing musicians, the lead guitarist in particular in Screw and all the musicians in Busby.
In Busby the compere (rhythm guitarist) was very entertaining) talking in a Dutch accent throughout (he's not Dutch!). The two female vocalists were strong in Busby and they sang an interesting variety of numbers. There were fun numbers/sad numbers and many in between.
I liked the venue - in the basement, very relaxed environment, candles everywhere and again a touch of the"Cabaret" venue(Arts Theatre Club, Frith St,. Soho). All in all a great night particularly for a Sunday!
I'd go again. Max
