thanks for the comments...with regards to the air con - please remember, this venue was built in the early 19th century and is open by day as a national heritage museum. we will bring in some industrial fans for the next event should it look like being another warm night. andy.

The Clientele at The Williamson Tunnels

What a night, one of the best gig's at one of the best venues I've been to for years.

Atmosphere was great, been to all of Harvest Sun's nights now and some of the gigs they are putting on are fantastic. Midlake, then The Clientele, whatever next?

Midlake

Got to admit I wasn't cold at all - had a fanitastic time, they were brilliant. Was also very impressed by the backing group - not too impressed that they didn't have any merchandise to buy but hey ho! Midlake - can only say, fantastic! Venue made it for me.

James and Tom at Harvest Sun Promotions deserve a big thank you for having the heart to bring Midlake to Liverpool! I loved the intimate quirky venue it totally suited Midlake.....they absolutely rocked the place and they've really developed their stage presence since the last time I saw them. Outstanding musicians and such lovely guys too.....

Midlake at the Williamson Tunnels, Liverpool

It was cold, the sound system wasn't great, especially on vocals, but Midlake were superb. What a brilliant band, making for a memorable night.

John Bramwell @ The Williamson Tunnels - 19th December 2009

What a fiasco of a night! We witnessed the whole drama unfold first hand.

May I first say that the fault lay not with any of the acts themselves or even with the event organisers. The 'sound engineer' was a total [expletive removed] not just towards John Bramwell but towards the support bands as well.

On entering the stage, John Bramwell commented "It sounds like I'm inside a barrel of cotton wool!" to which the sound egineer shouted in reply, "We can hear you, get on with it." John Bramwell says, "I've got 200 people here who disagree with you..." The sound guy walks to the front of the satge and demands, "What's your problem?!" John Bramwell says, "My problem is you. I don't think you're actually a sound engineer."

There were more classic moments when John Bramwell described his prevuious conversation with the sound engineer like "talking to someone off Star Trek," and said he would play on but was unsure what he'd sound like as it was like "knitting soup!"

Also, following John Bramwell's first exit (and who can blame him?) the event organiser's request of, "Is there a sound engineer in the house?" was particularly amusing.

The replacement guy who kindly volunteered did his best but when the sound continued to cut in and out, John Bramwell had to admit defeat and suggested a rescheduled gig.

What an ace night!

Will definitely be back in January for the rescheduled gig and free drink.

This gig was screwed by the sound guy. He turned up late and then basically took the piss. To put his ineptness into context, he tried to tell John not to use his own amp as it was old. To which John responded 'I know it's old, that's why it sounds so fucking good'.

Anyway, the gig is being rescheduled for January, so try and get there and support Tom and James who work so hard to pull these gigs together.

how many times have you looked forward to a gig only to be blown away by the by a supporting band. that was the case yet again at the maybe-tunnel of love, whilst the maybes? produced a well structured set, as we know they can, mercury 13 were a breath of fresh air, great lyrics, soaring harmonies, tight set, can't wait to hear more from these guys!

Best night I've been to in a long while. Fantastic venue, everyone was having a great time including the bouncers and the bar staff. Both DJ's were very good and I loved the relaxed atmosphere from only having 200 - 300 people.
