DREADZONE VS THE ORB
Acid house grooves and futuristic soundscapes meet bass - heavy dub and reggae rhythms as Dreadzone and The Orb team up to give fans a rare treat. They are
hitting the road together for the first time ever to play co - headline shows in April & May. Both will play an hour set each night with either Greg Dread or Alex Paterson opening proceedings with a DJ set. Dreadzone have been releasing albums and progressively bettering, refining and perfecting their own unique and inimitable take on dub since their inception in 1993. They opened the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 1994 bringing their unique blend of electro, dub and reggae to a wider audience going on to chart several singles including their Top 20 hit ‘Little Britain’.
The Orb are a pioneering force in ambient and electronic music. Their extensive catalogue includes classics like ‘Little Fluffy Clouds’ and ‘Toxygene’. Alex Paterson continues to push the boundaries of sonic exploration with the recently released eighteenth Orb studio album ‘Prism’ which has been hailed as their most towering set for years. Both Dreadzone and The Orb have successfully navigated through an ever-changing musical landscape and have been creative forces now for over 30 years. Their shared love of dub, sampling and dance beats makes this a perfect match.
