Love Saves The Day

Overall rating: 3 Verified review

Queued for 3 hours to get in, massivly overcrowded when inside. Had to leave at 4 to get some dry clothes but wasn't allowed back in so we cut our losses and had a night out in Bristol later on, which was brilliant... very friendly people. At least we saw Greg Wilson at Loves Saves the Day, thankfully he was on early.

Love wasn't enough...

Overall rating: 3

First of all: the line-up for the event was incredible. A whole 12 hours of great music - such potential! However, on top of the £30 ticket, extortionate prices for food and drink (£4 for a pint of the worst beer I have ever tasted), ridiculous queues for bars, very little shelter and incredibly heavy rain, the day was a wash-out. These things would not necessarily dampen our spirits if the festival allowed re-entry, but instead the punters were forced to choose between: a) great music, 12 hours of hypothermia and being completely ripped off for food and drink; or b) leaving before acts like Bonobo and Roots Manuva for warmth, shelter and affordable food, only to find that you were not allowed back in! Adding insult to injury, the event's security team seized all food and drink on the door, and would not even allow ticketholders to bring bottled water into the venue. What could have been an incredible day was ruined by the bureaucracy and money-grabbing tactics of the organisers. Did love save the day? Nope, greed doomed it.
