Ramsbottom Festival Sunday

A great day from arriving there by steam train to the impressive variety of acts, not only those I specifically came for (Roddy Frame, Thea Gilmore) but also those others I experienced (Kan and Seth Lakeman on the main stage and the more intimate ones I bumped into sheltering from the afternoon rain, notably Harp and a Monkey and The Rocket). There were only three of us on the special bus back to Manchester (out of the many hundreds who attended) but this was efficient and within half an hour arrived in Portland Street. Good food (enjoyed the bacon bus, pies and Tibetan cuisine) and drink from the Irwell Brewery. Now listening to CDs by the aformentioned bands and look forward to next year. However, I've no photographs due to the ban on those with interchangeable lenses!

me and my partner came especialy to see the inspiral carpets and let me tell you they were amazing. i will be coming again next year.

Went specifically for Roddy Frame and Silent Disco and was NOT disappointed. It rained for 8 hours solid, but at 9pm stopped raining and as Roddy came on, the sky was inky, clear, and star-filled, and there I saw my childhood crush beat the crap out of a million modern acts with his amazing acoustic guitar and VOICE. Tick that off my bucket list

Caught the pre booked coach from Chorlton which meant I could drink lots of lovely "Old Slapper". Relaxing venue, great characters (see photo)Thought Magic Arm was great, loved the variety of the likes of A9 and the gorgeous Jenny Cormack. I am Kloot are an all time favourite of mine and they didnt disappoint :)Possibly only thing I would say is that some bands that were in the Ladybird tent would have benefited being on the large stage and vice versa.Lovely day all in all. I will be back!

This was our first time at this festival and it was a memorable experience.The main draw for us was to see the Inspiral Carpets and I Am Kloot who were both brilliant in their headline slots on Friday and Saturday as well as seeing newer acts such as Admiral Fallow and The Leisure Society who were as equally brilliant.The cricket ground venue was well suited to this size of festival with bars,food and of course toilets conveniently situated around.The festival had a very family orientated,friendly atmosphere about it and has fairground rides and activities to keep children amused (One unfortunate criticism though is the giving of goldfish as prizes,i know it was traditional at fairs at one time but i'd hoped we'd have moved on a bit since then.).Ticket prices for the event were very reasonable too and it was nice to have a choice to buy tickets for specific days if you're not going for the whole weekend.One thing to add about the music is the sound was perfectly balanced and at a level where you could chat and still enjoy the acts during the day.I would heartily recommend The Ramsbottom Festival to anyone who wants to enjoy live music in a non-corporate,friendly environment...i'll definitely be going again.Well done to everyone involved!!

What a lovely thing.... Suprise hit of the day was the silent disco.
Music wise really enjoyed Marc O'Rielly and Rachel Sermanni.The thrill of hearing Roddy Frame live was absolutely brilliant.Will definately be on my to do list for next year.

Went to the 2011 festival and was so impressed that I got the Early Bird tickets this time before the line up was announced.

The festival did not disappoint. Went down on Friday evening to se the Inspiral Carpets which was great. Then back on the Saturday with our two young kids who loved having their faces painted, going on the fiar rides and dancing around to all the music.

Great mix of music. Well organised and lots of space. Very friendly atmosphere.

I hope they run it again next year - if so we will be back there.

Went for the full day on Saturday overall impression great atmosphere well organised and exceeded my expectations ( being a local resident and familiar with the location ) will definately be going again next year :)

friday night was a typical inspirals display tip top bumped into danny mahon for a chat great he took time out to talk and as for saturday i am KlooT were fantastic capped of with meeting the band back stage for a chinwag with john bramwell who is just a lyrical genius......
