Sankeys are incredibly proud to welcome Fedde le Grand to Manchester.
But bringing in the recent number one artist to Manchester almost didn’t happen as David Vincent, Sankeys’ director, had severe computer trouble a few weeks ago which left him running one of the UK’s best club nights through his Blackberry!
“It was a bit of a farce,” David says, “and as far as I remember, Fedde was booked to play on Saturday 25th November. But then my computer went into meltdown and I lost a lot of info and had a bit of shock when Fedde’s agent rang asking how everything was looking for Friday 24th!”
Fedde le Grand is the Dutch DJ and producer behind the catchy electro house number 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit'. It’s been a club smash all through the summer and David demonstrated great foresight with the booking after hearing the track months ago – even if he got the date wrong!
“I am just glad it’s sorted and now Fedde is at the club this Friday. He’s a great DJ and we can’t wait to welcome him to Manchester!”
Fedde started out as a DJ at the gay club Dans Salon in the southern town of Eindhoven in The Netherlands. He's also a producer with tracks signed by Little Mountain Recordings, Influence, Flamingo Records, Work and UK labels Ministry of Sound, CR2 Records and Toolroom.
On November 6, 2006 Fedde hit the top of the UK singles chart with 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' and his huge tune is still in the top ten.
