Armin van Buuren to play vinyl-only sets during Ibiza residency

The Dutch dance legend will embrace his roots for a special run of Ibiza shows, combining old-school DJing with a series of unique back-to-back performances.

Armin van Buuren is taking things back to where it all began, announcing he'll perform a special vinyl-only set during each date of his upcoming residency at UNVRS Ibiza.

The trance icon will take over the superclub across five Mondays from 7th September to 5th October, with every show featuring a dedicated vinyl section. The closing night will see him play an extended all-night set.

Sharing the news on social media, van Buuren said he's preparing exclusive vinyl edits for the residency, explaining that the longer track lengths and hands-on nature of the format will make for a very different DJ experience compared to his usual performances.

The Dutch DJ also reflected on his early years behind the decks, describing vinyl as an important part of his career and highlighting the nostalgia and unique sound that still make the format special today.

Alongside the vinyl sets, the first four residency dates will also feature the return of van Buuren's Face-to-Face (F2F) concept. He'll go back-to-back with Hannah Laing, Eli Brown, Argy and Funk Tribu across the September shows, before taking over the decks solo for the all-night finale in October.

The residency marks another major chapter for Armin van Buuren in Ibiza, giving fans the chance to experience one of dance music's biggest names embracing the format that helped launch his career.
