Fontaines D.C., Gilles Peterson, and Ezra Collective among winners at Independent Music Awards

Acclaimed artists new and old were the beneficiaries of AIM Awards’ 15th edition on 23rd September.

Fontaines D.C., Gilles Peterson, and Ezra Collective were among those rewarded at the 15th edition of the Independent Music Awards (AIM), which took place at The Roundhouse in Camden on Tuesday 23rd September. 

Established in 2011 by the Association of Independent Music to honour the best independent artists, labels, and music organisations, the AIM Awards give out accolades for achievements in best independent album, track, EP, music video, and more. DJ and We Out Here founder Gilles Peterson walked away with the 'Outstanding Contribution to Music Award' while avant-garde performance artist Cosey Fanni Tutti received the 'Innovator Award'. 

Other highlights included Fontaines D.C. picking up 'Best Independent Album' for Romance, Ezra Collective receiving 'Best Independent Track' for 'God Gave Me Feet For Dancing' ft. Yazmin Lacey, XL Recordings winning 'Best Independent Label', AD 93 landing 'Best Boutique Label', and Wax & Beans in Bury getting 'Best Independent Record Store'.
