Hosted in the first weekend of September, the fourth incarnation of Electric Field Festival announces its biggest and most diverse line up to date. Taking place in the grounds of a castle - this is a truly unique and special event.

Scottish five-piece indie band Frightened Rabbit are to headline their home country event, their most recent album Painting of a Panic Attack which was released last year came after a short hiatus from the band. This live performance is not to be missed.

Noise-dwellers and 80's post-punk pioneers Jesus and the Mary Chain are also to take to the stage at this year's event. The performance comes following the release of the band's first album since their reunion in 2007. This March the band's first recording experience since 1998 will be unleashed and what better way to celebrate than to have them headline a festival on their home turf.

With a back catalogue of six eclectic albums, the live return of alternative duo Arab Strap is welcomed with open arms as they are to play at this year's event. Founded in 1995, over 20 years later they're still named as one of Scotland's most influential bands and hosting them within the beautiful grounds of a Scottish castle promises a remarkable experience.

Also announced were rock'n'roll trio Brat and the Bonemen, rock and electric mix that is Crash Club, project of Amazing Snakehead frontman And Yet It Moves and many more to be announced - see the full Electric Fields line up.

Electric Fields, Drumlanrig Castle in Thornhill - Friday 1st - Saturday 2nd September
