Radiohead have announced a surprise new live album that sees the group re-evaluating their relationship with a modern classic. Hail To The Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009 is out now digitally and will be available to pre-order as a one-off pressing, released on October 31st.
The album comprises performances of songs from the band’s sixth record, recorded in London, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Dublin between 2003 and 2009, and is mixed by Ben Baptie with mastering by Matt Colton. Radiohead have also shared a live video performance of 'There, There' from Buenos Aires, taken from the album.
Frontman Thom Yorke, who recently had a hand in co-creating the acclaimed Hamlet Hail to the Thief show, which merged the Shakespearean tragedy with a deconstructed score from the album, called the live record’s production “a very cathartic process,” and was “shocked by the kind of energy behind the way we played.”
