Menno De Jong to headline Wax Format Birmingham NYE

Respected trance DJs unite for a massive Birmingham new years eve.

Birmingham is no stranger to the rave scene, or to hosting some of the strongest NYE line ups. This year Wax Format have chosen the exemplary Blackbox for their NYE party. With the 1000 person capacity, it will provide the industrial warehouse feel of vintage trance raves.

Wax Format's vinyl only policy harks back to the glory years of the genre, with the music focused in the main room on the decade between 1997 and 2007. The second space will cater to harder sounds of yesteryear, with hard dance, house and trance all in the mix.

Dutch powerhouse Menno De Jong takes the three hour headline set. He is a suitable choice, a slew of productions on respected imprints such as Black Hole and In Trance We Trust sitting alongside heavyweight appearances at the likes of Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Amnesia Ibiza and ADE. The Space Brothers will support, with Andy Farley and a returning from retirement Cally Gage in Room 2.
