Blood Orange returns with ‘The Field’, ft Durutti Column & Caroline Polachek

Musical polymath Dev Hynes’ latest endeavour boasts an impressive feature list, and has just dropped a music video directed by Hynes himself.

Date published: 26th Jun 2025

Three years on from the last Blood Orange release, Dev Hynes’ acclaimed moniker has made a return with new track ‘The Field’, complete with an impressive array of features and a freshly released music video directed by Hynes himself.

The new track samples ‘Sing to Me’ by seminal post-punk outfit The Durutti Column, from their 1998 record Time Was Gigantic… When We Were Kids, and features contributions from Caroline Polachek, Daniel Caesar, and Tariq Al-Sabir. Despite being the first release under the Blood Orange moniker since 2022's Four Songs, Hynes has remained as prolific as ever, with film scores, Broadway soundtracks, and credits with the likes of Lorde and Turnstile all under his belt.

You can watch the Hynes-directed video for ‘The Field’ now, which depicts the London-born songwriter and friends traversing the English countryside.
