Black Madonna & Roisin Murphy join Homoelectric's 12-hour virtual party lineup

The cult Manchester club night will live stream the show on Sunday 10 May as part of the United We Stream project

The team behind cult Manchester club brand Homoelectric have put together a helluva lineup for their virtual, 12-hour 'STAY HOMO' party on Sunday 10 May.

Black Madonna, Roisin MurphyErol Alkan and Horse Meat Disco have all been added to the bill, joining Krystal Klear, Jaye Ward, Homoelectric founder Luke Unabomber, and residents Jamie Bull, Will Tramp, Gina Breeze and Lukas.

Drag SOS star Cheddar Gorgeous will also be performing, while visuals will be provided by Skiddle, following the release of our mini-doc, HOMOBLOC: The Story Behind The UK’s Biggest Ever Queer Rave, late last year.

The online event is the latest from the United We Stream (UWS) project, a Manchester-based fundraising platform created by Parklife and Warehouse Project boss Sacha Lord (who is also Greater Manchester's nighttime economy adviser) in order to support the city's nighttime economy during the Coronavirus lockdown.

So far UWS - which was inspired by an initiative of the same name in Berlin - has raised more than a quarter of a million pounds. Donations from Sunday's event will be shared with the Albert Kennedy Trust, which supports LGBTQ+ young people in the UK experiencing homelessness or living in hostile environments.

Luke Unabomber said: “We felt it was essential to raise people's spirits as well as raise funds for Manchester’s night time economy, and to support the performers we regularly work with, who we know are suffering financial hardship. We have also chosen to donate to Albert Kennedy Trust.

"All of the DJs, performers and the people behind the scenes have donated their time for free to make this Bank Holiday a very special self-isolation party - STAY HOMO and join in!”
