Review of The Balearic Garden
Came for music and the music was awesome, as expected from headlining DJs. The main stage was a bit too quiet, still we danced all day at the other one. Decent crowd, no weird shenanigans.
Bars and food very overpriced even for a festival. inconsistent policies, some bars giving you cans and water bottles with a cap, others insisting that it's not allowed and pouring everything into plastic cups...
Venue - miserable and poorly managed. There was nothing 'Balearic' or 'Gardeny' about it. It's literally a fenced off area between two dilapidated buildings and the ring road, uneven ground, easy for slips and trips, plenty of cubicles but no running water, nowhere to wash your hands. Entire ground very crowded, makes you wonder how on earth this place passed sanitary and safety assessment.
Entrance to venue very badly organised and poorly managed. Sniffer dog, jumping at random people, 99% male, I waited 45 minutes with hundred or more other guys to be searched. Only two or three women were searched during this time. Dog clearly attracted to something else than drugs as they were everywhere around you once you hit the dancefloor. Smirking, judgemental and quite agitated security did not improve this messy process.
